We do recommend you to read through this document first for your better understanding of Roland METAZA DRIVER. This "Readme" file provides some important information to install DRIVER.

Explanation here is assuming that you are already familiar with operations on Windows. The further information about operation on Windows, please refer the user's manual from Microsoft Corp.

This driver provides you the capability to output printing to the Roland METAZA machine from your Windows application software.

< 3. Installing the Driver >

-	Using [COM] or [LPT] As the Connection Port

*	Log on as a user with administrator rights.
*	If an older version of the driver is installed, uninstall it before you install the new one. For more information about how to remove the driver, refer to the next section, "Uninstalling the Driver."

1.	Switch off the power to the machine, then detach the connector cable between the machine and the computer.
2.	Turn on the computer. After Windows has started, turn on the machine. At this time, do not attach the connector cable to the computer and the machine yet.
3.	From the [Start] menu, choose [All Programs], then [Accessories], then [Run], and then click [Browse].
4.	Choose the name of the drive or folder where the driver is located.
5.	Select "SETUP64.EXE" and click [Open], then click [OK].
6.	The [User Account Control] appears, click [Allow].
7.	The Setup program for the driver starts.
8.	Click [Install] to choose it.
	Choose the machine and connection port you're using, then click [Start].
9.	After installation has finished, use the cable to make the connection between the computer and the machine.


-	Using [USB] As the Connection Port

*	Log on as a user with administrator rights.
*	If an older version of the driver is installed, uninstall it before you install the new one. For more information about how to remove the driver, refer to the next section, "Uninstalling the Driver."

1.	Switch off the power to the machine, then detach the connector cable between the machine and the computer.
2.	Turn on the computer. After Windows has started, turn on the machine.
3.	Use the cable to connect the computer and the machine. 
4.	The [Found New Hardware] appears, click [Locate and install driver software (recommended)].
5.	The [User Account Control] appears, click [Continue].
6.	After a short wait, you are prompted to insert the disk. Click [I don't have the disk. Show me other options.].
7.	Click [Browse my computer for driver software (advanced)].
8.	Click [Browse].
9.	Select the name of the drive or folder where the driver is located, then click [OK].
10.	Click [Next].
11.	The [Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software] appears, click [Install this driver software anyway].
12.	Click [Close] to finish installation.

< 4. Uninstalling the Driver >

*	Log on as a user with administrator rights.

1.	Switch off the power to the machine, then detach the connector cable between the machine and the computer.
2.	Start Windows.
3.	From the [Start] menu, select [Control Panel].
4.	From the [Hardware and Sound] group, click [Printer].
5.	Click the driver for the machine to delete to select it, then go to [Organize] and select [Delete].
6.	A message prompting you to confirm deletion appears. Click [Yes].
7.	In the [Printers] folder, right-click any location where no printer icon is present.
8.	From the [Run as administrator] menu, select [Server Properties].
9.	The [User Account Control] appears, click [Continue].
10.	Click the [Drivers] tab, then from the [Installed printer drivers] list, choose the machine to delete.
11.	Click [Remove].
12.	The [Remove Driver And Package] appears, select [Remove driver and driver package].
13.	Click [OK].
14.	When the prompt message appears, click [Yes].
15.	The package and driver to delete are displayed. Make sure that what is displayed is the machine you want to delete, then click [Delete].
16.	The items that have been deleted are displayed. Click [OK].
17.	Click [Close] on [Remove Driver And Package] window.
18.	From the [Start] menu, choose [All Programs], then [Accessories], then [Run], and then click [Browse].
19.	Choose the name of the drive or folder where the driver is located. (*)
20.	Select "SETUP64.EXE" and click [Open], then click [OK].
21.	The [User Account Control] appears, click [Allow].
22.	The Setup program for the driver starts.
23.	Click [Uninstall] to choose it.
	Select the machine to delete, then click [Start].
24.	If it is necessary to restart your computer, a window prompting you to restart it appears. Click [Yes].
25.	The uninstallation finishes after the computer restarts.


(*) When using the CD-ROM, specify the folder as shown below (assuming your CD-ROM drive is the D drive).

	D:\Drivers\WINVISTAX64

If you're not using the CD-ROM, go to the Roland DG Corp. website (http://www.rolanddg.com/) and download the driver for the machine you want to delete, then specify the folder where you want to expand the downloaded file.
